Light the Night Walk for LLS- Walking for a Cure

If you have been a patient or friend of A+ Dental for a while, then you probably know about the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The LLS is a cause near and dear to the heart of Dr. Babaloui. Each year, Dr. B., along with her team, family and friends leads Team Princess Nina Nazari in the Light the Night walk.

This beautiful nighttime illuminated walk honors those who have been affected by Leukemia and Lymphoma, and raises funds for blood cancer research and treatment.

Over the past 5 years, Team Princess Nina Nazari has raised several thousand dollars through participation with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The money raised goes directly to cancer research and support for patients and families who are battling this horrible cancer.

The Nazari Family Story, In Their Own Words

Our precious 8 1/2 year old daughter Nina Z. Nazari was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) on August 5th 2009. That same day, she was admitted to Medical City of Dallas Children's Hospital. For the next ten days, Nina underwent a very grueling and intensive course of chemotherapy in an effort to quickly bring her cancer under control.

On the eleventh day something went horribly wrong and Nina's health became worse. She was complaining of severe back pain, was getting high dosages of pain medication and antibiotics; however, nothing was effective. Our precious daughter had a seizure and shortly after that she went into a coma.

Nina Zahra Nazari deceased at 10:09 a.m., August 17th, 2009 at the Medical City of Dallas Children's Hospital after losing a hard fought twelve day battle against Leukemia”.

Turning Tragedy Into Hope

Although losing a child is the deepest pain possible, those who are left behind must continue on. That is why support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is so important to Dr. B.

It is important to find a cure for the future, and support patients and families affected by blood cancer in the present. The LLS provides that support through educational materials for patients and families, family support groups led by trained professionals and through ongoing research to find a cure.

Additionally, the LLS helps fund treatment for patients without incentive for profit. Supporting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is one way Dr. B and her husband work to turn their tragedy into hope for others.

You Make a Difference

Every donation, no matter the size has an impact on the lives of cancer patients and their families. That is because the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is not concerned with profit. All donations go directly toward making great strides against blood cancer.

You are invited to participate in the Light the Night walk on November 1, 2014 at Simpson Plaza Frisco Square. Walk with us, and help beat cancer.

Donations are accepted both through A+ Dental in Carrollton and through the LLS website .

Thank you for joining in the support of this worthy cause.
