A Celebration of Life

The Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children provides crucial healthcare services to children, regardless of the family’s ability to pay. Established by the Masons in 1921 in order to provide treatment for children with polio, TSRHC has become a world leader in the treatment of orthopedic conditions as well as well as certain neurological disorders and learning disorders. The hospital operates without State or Federal funding, and relies upon private donations in order to provide treatment to children in need.

On August 17, Dr. Shahnaz Babaloui and her husband Hamid Nazari marked the five year anniversary of the passing of their beloved daughter, Nina, by supporting the children at Scottish Rite with a donation of wagon loads of new toys.

Delivering the gifts of new toys in person, and sharing some joy with these children was a way to celebrate and honor Nina’s beautiful life. Because the hospital relies on donations, a gift in any amount makes a difference. You can help support the hospital, a beacon of hope, with a donation of time or funds.

For the past five years, Dr. B and Hamid have become active supporters of numerous children’s charities. Having lost their beautiful daughter, Nina, to acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2009, together they celebrate her life through charitable work. The couple supports organizations devoted to saving the lives of children. Nina’s leukemia was extremely aggressive, and treatment was ineffective against the disease.

Nina passed away just 12 days after receiving her diagnosis. The Nazari’s understand just how much it means to support these organizations. They work to raise awareness and support of important organizations such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Each year in the Fall, the Nazari's, along with the Princess Nina Nazari Team, participate in

the Light the Night Walk supporting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. In addition, they have organized the Nina Nazari Scholarship fund through the Prince of Peace Christian School.

Every little bit helps when it comes to saving the lives of children affected by serious disease, and everyone is invitied to join Light the Night. For information on how to help support any of these organizations through monetary donations or donations of time, please visit our website.
